NeilPryde Racing Series kicks off with Olympic medallist Bryony Shaw

To wrap up a spectacular penultimate day in Cardiff 40 windsurfers went head to head on the Extreme 40 racecourse as part of the NeilPryde Racing Series, with some of Britain’s top windsurfing talent on the starting grid.
The NeilPryde Racing Series – the official warm-up act to the Extreme Sailing Series – is a unique concept where windsurfers of all ages and abilities compete together on the universal one-design RS:One, an ISAF-approved class.
The Series has attracted some of the UK’s top sailing talent including Team GB windsurfer and Olympic bronze medallist from Beijing Bryony Shaw who proved unbeatable sailing to a clear victory right in front of a captivated VIP and public crowd. The incredibly talented Sills family including current RS:X Youth World and European champion Saskia Sills, her sister Imogen a former European Champion and their brother Sam a former World, European and National Champion – are also competing in the NeilPryde Racing Series, for their share of the $3,000US dollars prize money.
The Series continues tomorrow, with the qualifying rounds from 1000am-1340 local time, followed by the final at 1700, to conclude the Extreme Sailing Series, Act 5 Cardiff.
