About the Sponsor

Ecover (the world’s leading manufacturer of ecological cleaning and washing products) have been supporting IMOCA & FICO world champion Mike Golding since 2001. In 2009 Ecover changed tack with their sponsorship programme moving from the IMOCA Open 60 to an Extreme 40 catarmaran, as the Ecover Sailing Team took on the iShares Cup. In 2010 the team is back to compete in the Extreme Sailing Series Europe.  The Ecover Sailing Team made its debut on the circuit in 2009, Mike and his team have learnt quickly and are looking forward to the 2010 season.

About the Skipper

Mike Golding is one of Britain’s most accomplished singlehander offshore sailors, with two IMOCA & FICO World Championship titles, a third place in the Vendée Globe and multiple records to his name. After his first Extreme 40 experience last year, Mike is back with a new crew and high ambitions for the circuit.

About the Team

This year sees a new team format; Olympic tornado sailor Leigh McMillan takes on the helm with his Tornado partner Will Howden staying onboard as tactician and running the mainsheet. Mike Golding (Skipper) remains onboard as trimmer, with America’s Cup sailor Jonathan Taylor taking on the bow. The all British Ecover Sailing Team who have been training in the UK over the winter will be looking to make an impact on the leaderboard in 2010. Team links
