Russia’s 2014 Olympic Laser sailor Igor Lisovenko leads the team flying his home flag in his second season, this time with three Russians onboard including newcomer Alexander Bozhko and experienced 49er sailor Aleksey Kulakov. Kiwi match racing supremo Phil Robertson will remain at the helm, with his Waka Racing teammate Garth Ellingham continuing as the team’s trimmer.

2015 will be Igor’s second season on the circuit. He’s a National Champion in the laser class and has represented his country at the London 2012, and the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Igor also has experience in the RC44 class.

Phil Robertson is a regular on the World Match Racing Tour clocking third position in both 2012 and 2013. He holds great Extreme 40 knowledge having competed with China Team in Qingdao in 2012, ChinaSpirit in 2013 and Gazprom Team Russia in 2014.

Garth joined China Team in 2011 for the Qingdao leg of the Stadium Racing tour, ChinaSpirit in 2013 and Gazprom Team Russia for the latter part of the 2014 Series. He’s a core member of Waka Racing in the World Match Racing Tour and has raced in the AC45 World Series.

Russian laser sailor Alexander Bozhko holds experience on the RC44 Championship Tour and will be making his Extreme 40 debut in 2015 with the only Russian entry.

Aleksey is an experienced dinghy sailor and one of Russia’s top 49er sailors. He has competed with the Synergy Russian Sailing Team in the RC44 class and won the 40 feet ORC National Cup 3 consecutive years. This will be his second season on the Extreme 40 circuit, and when he’s not sailing he’s a surgeon.

Working closely with the Saint Petersburg Yacht Club, Gazprom have set up an initiative aimed at providing young Russian sailors the opportunities to compete at top international sailing events, such as the Extreme Sailing Series™.
