Fresh from a victory in the World Match Racing Tour, the ‘million dollar man’ himself, Phil Robertson, heads up the Extreme Sailing Series™ comeback for Gazprom Team Russia. Robertson has ample experience in the Series, including having sailed with Gazprom Team Russia in the last two seasons, however this will be the Kiwi sailor’s first experience of racing the hydro-foiling GC32 in the Series.

​Tiller, a teammate of Robertson’s on the winning 2016 World Match Racing Tour team, returns to the Extreme Sailing Series having skippered GAC Pindar in the 2013 season, bringing with him valuable Stadium Racing experience.

Dublin born sailor, Shane Diviney, joins the Russian-flagged team for the fifth Act of the 2016 season, having already competed onboard CHINA One for three Acts of the season so far. This makes Diviney the most experienced GC32 sailor of the crew, a valuable asset for the team as they enter the fray on the Neva River in St Petersburg. Experienced match racer Diviney got first in class in the 2015 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race and also races as a regular and integral part of New Zealand’s 36 Below Team.

Kulakov is an experienced dinghy sailor and one of Russia’s top 49er sailors. He has competed with the Bronenosec Sailing Team in the RC44 and TP52 classes, as well as onboard the Extreme 40 in the 2015 Extreme Sailing Series with Gazprom Team Russia. Not content with being an accomplished sailor, when he’s not on the water Kulakov is also a surgeon.

Having competed in the Series for the Istanbul Act in 2014, Serezhkin is a Bronenosec Sailing Team member and currently sails in the RC44 and TP52 classes. A former Laser national champion and Russian sailing team member, Victor makes his GC32 debut with Gazprom Team Russia on home waters for the fifth Act.
