About the Skipper
Clínio de Freitas is a two-time Olympic sailor having won a bronze medal in the 1988 Seoul Olympics games in the Tornado class. The man in the driver's seat for the final Act of the 2013 Series in Florianópolis, Clínio will be joined onboard by a host of local multihull sailors that will be decided soon.
About the Team
Brazilian sailing royalty Lars Grael will be at the forefront of the invitational entry, Team Brazil. The team representing the home nation for Act 8, Florianópolis presented by Land Rover brings together some of the country’s top multihull specialists who will complete the starting grid in November. Clínio de Freitas will act as skipper and helmsman alonside alongside a crew with positions yet to be decided comprising of experienced Tornado sailor André Mirsky, Daniel Santiago a four-times J24 world champion, local Florianópolis Tornado sailors Bruno di Bernardi and André Chang and the only female of the fleet and Olympian Cláudia Swan who will be campaigning for the 2016 Olympics in the Nacra 17. The remaining four crew positions will be chosen after a series of selection trials commencing on the 2 November, where some of Brazil’s finest multihull sailing talent will undertake a rigorous training programme to determine their positions on board.
