Act 2 - Muscat, Oman

Muscat capital of the Sultanate of Oman, will host Act 2 with the support of Host Venue partners Oman Sail on the home turf of defending champions, The Wave, Muscat.

Perched on the southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula, stark beauty and vastly contrasting landscapes typify Oman: arid desert, secret oasis, enchanting wadis, awe-inspiring mountains and a lush shoreline that stretches over 1,700 km.

Until recently much of Oman was undiscovered by tourists but it has developed into a high-end tourist location with a vibrant economy making it a destination for foreign investment. Notable landmarks include the Grand Mosque, the Royal Opera House and the Oman National Museum, as well as the more traditional sights including the Muttrah Souq, considered by many as one of the oldest traditional bazaar’s in the Arab world.

Oman Sail’s growing influence in the sport of sailing has been highlighted by their successes in the Extreme Sailing Series – the most successful nation in the history of the Series and the only to win it a staggering three times. Oman Sail is revitalising the Sultanate’s rich maritime history and reconnecting young Omanis to the sea, whilst offering them the chance to compete internationally.

Race Village & Activities
The free to enter public Race Village is located at the Almouj Golf Course at The Wave, Muscat, a site situated along the pristine coastline of Oman.
