Cardiff, or Caerdydd in Welsh (pronounced Cayer-deeth) is the capital and largest city in Wales and the tenth largest city in the United Kingdom. The city is Wales' chief commercial centre, the base for most national cultural and sporting institutions, the Welsh national media, and the seat of the National Assembly for Wales.
The Welsh capital already plays host to a variety of world class sporting events from top class football and rugby to newer events like the Extreme Sailing Series, and was a host venue city for the 2012 Olympic Games.
