With the sailors gearing up for their mid-season fight, read what the skippers had to say as they head into Act 4, Cascais.

Phil Robertson, Skipper, Oman Air

It’s going to be a very challenging week. We’re going to have the breeze coming off the land all week and we’ll be sailing nice and close to the shore. It’s going to be a bit puffy but the nice thing is that it’s flat water, so perfect foiling conditions. It’s going to be all about linking up the puffs and going fast.

Team Oman Air took Barcelona by storm in Act 3, finishing second in the Act. They’ll be looking to put in a repeat performance in Cascais.

Will Alloway, Skipper, INEOS Rebels UK

The first half of Barcelona wasn’t that great for us but we made a few changes halfway through the event and we really saw that in our results. We’re moving into the second half of the season now and we’re ready to start climbing the leaderboard. We’ve been away and reset last week in Portsmouth, and had a chat about what we can improve. We’re pretty confident we’ve come up with good solutions. Yesterday we saw some good steps forward in practice racing.

INEOS Rebels UK currently sit just outside the podium in fourth place.

Adam Minoprio, Helm, SAP Extreme Sailing Team

The team had a great week in Barcelona. I just hope I can shake off the cruising and get back into racing!

Adam Minoprio was absent from the third Act of the season whilst he enjoyed sailing his own yacht with his fiancé. He’s back for Act 4, Cascais and he means business.

Erik Brockmann, Skipper, Team México

My previous experience in Portugal was quite different. We’re really looking forward to a fun week here. It’s a really good racecourse with a lot of wind. There will be some good opportunities for us here in Cascais.

Team México have brought Tom Phipps back on board as helm for Act 4, Cascais. With big breeze forecast, Erik and his crew are looking to shake up the leaderboard.
