A second British-flagged squad has entered Act 5, as the Extreme Sailing Series™ returns to Hamburg’s River Elbe, presented by Land Rover. The wildcard entry, Team Extreme, will be skippered by British Olympian Stevie Morrison. The star of the show among Morrison’s international crew is local German hot-shot Linov Scheel, a 20-year-old 49er campaigner from Kiel, who will make his debut in the Extreme Sailing Series as bowman.

​Morrison is a two-time Olympian in the 49er class having represented Great Britain at London 2012 and Beijing 2008. With two World Championship, three European Championship and 12 National Championship titles to his name, Morrison brings a whole load of sailing knowledge to his second Extreme Sailing Series season.

Starting sailing at a young age, Melo had a strong junior career, with a second in the Laser World Championships, a third in the Finn Junior World Championships and a second in the europeans junior worlds to his name. Melo also competed in the 2012 Olympics in the Star class and most recently won the Dragon Europeans.

No stranger to the circuit, British multihull sailor Tom Buggy took the position of bowman with Italian team Lino Sonego Team Italia in 2015. Buggy, and the American-flagged wildcard syndicate for the Madeira Islands Act 2016. He now return with Team Extreme, hoping his vast background in the Series will put him in good stead.

Britto joins the Series for the second time, following his success as Bowman for Sail Portugal Visit Madeira last year. Brito is a former Tornado Olympic Sailor. Brito competed in the 2015 Sydney Hobart Race and is an experienced match racing and J24 sailor.

​29er whiz-kid, Scheel has placed on the podium for the EUROSAF Youth European Championships in the 29er has and taken part in Kiel week, his home town, in both the 29er and the 49er.
