Team Extreme Wales

Stevie Morrison’s British wildcard squad, Team Extreme Wales, will include fellow Olympian Alain Sign, who placed sixth in the 49er in Rio, and James French, who is also a talented downhill skier. The 22-year-old Welshman Michael Beckett, a member of the British Sailing Team, and Martin Evans, 2015 national Laser champion, complete the roster.

​Morrison is a two-time Olympian in the 49er class having represented Great Britain at London 2012 and Beijing 2008. With two World Championship, three European Championship and 12 National Championship titles to his name, Morrison brings a whole load of sailing knowledge to his second Extreme Sailing Series season.

​British Sailing Team Laser sailor, Evans has since changes paths, now an expert hand on a GC32. Evans was the UK Laser National Champion in 2015, 12th Laser European Championships 2013 and the under 21 Laser World bronze medallist and European Silver medallist.

​49er sailor, Sign has a lot of experience on the water. He narrowly missed out on the Olympic podium last year in Rio and came third in the 2016 49er World Championship. His experience in performance sailing will hugely benefit the team in Cardiff

Beckett has travelled the world with his Laser, perfecting the Art. Now as he joins the Extreme Sailing Series Wildcard Team Extreme Wales, he has the opportunity to take his expertise to faster foiling catamarans
