Frequently Asked Questions

What time should I arrive?

The Extreme Club VIP lounge opens from 10:00 to 19:00 each day. A breakfast buffet will be available and there will be entertainment running throughout the morning, including boat tours and a skippers briefing. Gold package holders are requested to arrive at 10:00 to ensure they get the most from the morning sailing session.

Is there a dress code?

There is no official dress code at the Extreme Sailing Series events. We recommend smart casual attire in the Extreme Club and to check the local weather forecast beforehand.

Do you cater for specific dietary requirements?

Please inform us of any dietary requirements on your booking form.

Are children allowed in the Extreme Club?

Children are welcome within the Extreme Club but must be accompanied by an adult. Under 11s are free of charge and 12-16 year olds receive a 50% discount on Silver tickets. Platinum and Gold sailing experiences are restricted to over 18s only.

Do I need to be an experienced sailor to take part in on-water activities?

No prior sailing knowledge is required for any of our on-water experiences. The packages cater for experienced sailors through to novices.

I don't have my own sailing kit.

We provide full wet weather kit and safety equipment, to keep you safe and dry whilst on the water.

How close is the racing to shore?

The proximity of the racecourse to the Extreme Club depends on the host venue. The Extreme Sailing Series is unique in bringing the sailing as close to the crowd as safely possible. In some locations this is a matter of metres.

What happens if guest sailing is cancelled?

We endeavour to get as many Guest Sailors out on the water, as long as weather conditions allow. In the unlikely case that guest sailing has been deemed unsafe by the Race Director, we will do our best to offer an alternative on-water experience at the Act you are attending.

How is the racing scheduled?

During each Act there are four days of racing. The Race Director aims to run 6-8 races per day, weather permitting. Racing normally starts in the early afternoon and the precise schedule of racing will be detailed in your information pack. Timings may be altered on the day to take advantage of the best weather conditions but the Guest Experience team will keep you informed of any changes.
